1. Can I order by telephone or fax?

No, we only accept orders through our online shop or by email.


2. Can I purchase with my credit card or on account?

You can't pay on account, but you can use your credit card with PayPal.

Do I have a right of revocation?

Yes, customers have a 14 day right of revocation, unless the customer is acting on behalf of a firm or organisation. The cancellation period begins at the earliest after receipt of the goods and following the instructions in text form (letter, fax or e-mail).


4. Do I have a warranty on my PearC?

Yes, each PearC comes with a 2 year warranty according to EU laws. Most manufacturers of the components used by us give a full warranty of at least two years.


5. Does your PearC contain low-cost components?

No, we only use well-known high-quality hardware that scored good or very good in hardware tests. Including mainboards by Gigabyte, hard disks by Samsung or Western Digital, graphics cards by MSI or memory modules by Super Talent.


6. Is purchasing in your online shop secure?

Yes, the entire shop is secured by a 256bit SSL encryption, so that all data (including sensitive ones) are absolutely secure!

7. Is the PearC legal?

Yes, according to the laws of the European Union, there are no legal problems with PearC.

8. Is a PearC as safe as a Mac when it comes to viruses?

Yes, PearCs have the same security as normal Macs. The operating system is completely the same. But still, no system is a hundred percent secure.

9. Can I run all the software, that runs on my Mac?

Up to now we haven't discovered anything, that doesn't work, except Bootcamp.
To run another operating system natively, you have to install a second hard disk.
Merely, our PearC is not able to head for the Apple Remote, because of a missing infrared receiver.


10. What about the performance of the PearC, compared to the products of Apple?

This depends on what systems you compare. If you have system using the same CPU, you won't find a real speed difference.

11. Can I play Blu-Ray movies, if I order the Blu-Ray optical drive?

No, until now it's not possible to play Blu-Ray movies on Mac OS X. Nevertheless it's possible, to read and copy Blu-Ray content or burn data or films on Blu-Ray. On Windows, you don't have any restriction.

12. Do I have to use a Mac keyboard on a PearC?

No, you can also use a normal PC keyboard. Since Mac OS X is installed per default on a PearC, you might want to use a keyboard that is optimized for Mac OS X to have accesss to all features. But, you have to use a keyboard with USB connector.

13. Can I install another operating system such as Linux or Windows?

Yes, you can. However it is necessary to install another hard drive and install the other operating system on it. If you decide to install it on the main hard drive (Mac OS X start volume), it can cause several complications and is not supported by us.

14. Can I install other hardware in my PearC?

Yes, you can install audio devices, hard disks, memory or optical drives, e.g. Changing the motherboard or graphics card is currently not possible. After changing them, we cannot give any warranty anymore.

15. Can I use my firewire devices?

Yes, you can order all PearCs with an additional firewire interface card, either with Firewire 400 or Firewire 800.

16. How long does the shipping take?

Due to the diverse configuration options, your PearC will be built after having received your and and the payment is cleared. This takes currently about 5-7 working days. Our logistics partner DHL is known for its fast an reliable handling, so that shipping to european countries usually take 2-3 days.


17. Where do you ship your PearCs?

At this time we ship to the following countries:
Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republik, Denmark, Finnland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Austria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and UK.
Our customers from Belgium, France, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain may contact our local distributors for that special countries.

18. I have ordered by advance payment. How can I pay?
Please transfer the money to our bank account. Notice: A transfer inside the European Union has no additional charges. The fees are the same as in our own country.

19. I live in Switzerland. Can I order a PearC without the german VAT?

Yes, you can. Please send us an email to info (at) pearc.de with your order.

20. Can you deliver to any other countries than the above-named?

No. Currently we just deliver to the countries named above.

21. I already own a Mac OS X licence. Can I order my PearC without a licence?

No, we only ship our PearCs with Mac OS X included, due to legal restrictions.

22. Can I connect my Bluetooth mouse/keyboard etc.?

Yes, if you order every PearC with the optional bluetooth dongle. Bluetooth works not only on Mac OS X, but also on Windows.

24. Can I reinstall Mac OS X on my PearC?
Of course. Each PearC includes a retail Mac OS X DVD and a Boot-CD which lets you install Mac OS X on your own. Additionally, you will receive a illustrated manual and all necessary drivers.

25. Can I install software updates smoothly?
Yes, you can update your system via the integrated software update function. However the developer advises to backup your system before installing system updates. If problems can occur, we inform our customers by an email newsletter.

26. Can I run virtualisation tools like Parallels Desktop or VMWare Fusion on a PearC?
Yes, the latest releases of Parallels Desktop and VMWare Fusion run on a PearC.
Because Parallels Desktop requires the Intel Virtualization Technology, it ran only run on CPUs of the 8 (except Q8xxx) and 9 generation. The E7400, E7500 and Q8200 are not supported by Parallels Desktop, but they can only be found in the PearC Starters.
On the other hand, VMWare Fusion runs without any problems.


27. I want to have a laptop running Mac OS X. Are there some available?
No, currently, we don't have portable devices in our portfolio. We hope, that we can offer some in the near future.


28. Do your PearCs come with a Mac OS X disc?
Yes, all PearCs will be shipped with an original Mac Box Set, which includes Snow Leopard, iLife 09 and iWork 09.


29. Could you install Mac OS X on my computer?
No, to install Mac OS X on a regular PC, it has to have very special chosen components. We can not guarantee that all your components will work.


30. Can I buy your boot cd only?
No, that is not possible, because we cannot give a warranty, that it will work on foreign hardware.


31. Do you use an EFI-X module?
No, we emulate the EFI software-sided.


32. Can I buy or inspect a PearC on site?
No, that is not possible, because we are a online shop only. Our office has no capacity for clients.
